Tom Elwell became a friend of
mine during our mid-teenage years. We both
attended Community Christian Church, which at
the time was located on SW 31st Ave. near Davie
Blvd. In addition to attending worship services,
we both went to Christian youth rally's and
summer camp (Camp Owaissa Bauer). During the
summer months when it was very hot outside we
would play ping pong at the Church building and
play chess tournaments with Pat Mitchell and
Richard Warren.
After graduation, Tom became a Helicopter Pilot
in the Army and went to Viet Nam and
unfortunately we lost contact.
Tom had a great sense of humor and I certainly
place a high value on the several years we were
able to spend together as friends. May Gods
grace, mercy and peace be with you Tom!
