Memories of Dan Crowley
By Ray Heaton Jr.
Dan and I didn't meet until SHS,
we had several classes together including Phys. Ed. He
was athletic and a lot of fun to be around. We lost
touch for a few years until I married his younger sister
Patti. He was a great brother-in-law and when I think of
what a great uncle he was to Kelly it puts a smile on my
face. He would hide before we arrived and have a mask on

silly outfit and scare Kelly. She loved
it and then he would give her a big hug and kiss hello. I think
Dan loved doing it as much as Kelly liked trying to find where
he was hiding. Dan loved Christmas time and often dressed up as
Santa. I went to his funeral and wasn't surprised by the number
of people there. Dan made friends easy and was well liked. Dan
loved NASCAR and used to race at Hialeah back in the 60's. He
may be gone from this life, but the memories he left me with
were all happy ones and he will live on in my thoughts.
