The cost is $15.00 per person. Hope to see you there!               LIVE ENTERTAINMENT       We will have a live band for your listening, dancing and entertainment pleasure! They play the songs we listened to on the radio when we were at Stranahan!  It will be okay if anyone wants to get up and sing!

Last fall, an e-mail survey was conducted to see if there would be an interest in organizing a 60th Birthday Party for the Class of '65.  The answer was a  resounding YES!!  A venue outside the Fort Lauderdale area was also chosen.   The results are in and the winner is .............

Asheville, North Carolina!  Fall in Asheville is one of the busiest times of the year. As such, we had to look at a neighboring community to find a suitable venue.  After considering a number of options, the town of Cherokee was selected.

Cherokee, North Carolina is a Smoky Mountain vacation destination with plenty of fun activities - museums, amusement parks, casino, hiking trails, scenic drives and great shopping. And there are plenty of ways to relax, too. Sit by a waterfall or a swift-flowing stream, picnic under a lush canopy of trees, or stroll along a river path ......... it's all there!  Most important of all, this setting will play host to a great life experience - our 60th Birthday party!

Our 60th Birthday Party will be a one day event scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Holiday Inn of Cherokee Hotel, 37 Tsalagi Road, Cherokee, North Carolina.

If you plan to fly, there are 4 airports that serve the Cherokee area.  They are: Asheville (1 hour drive), Knoxville (2 hours), Atlanta (3 hours) and Nashville (4 hours).  Our research tells us that Atlanta affords the most cost-effective inbound flights.  It might be a good idea to meet up with fellow dragons at the airport and and motor pool to Cherokee!

The Holiday Inn of Cherokee Hotel has graciously agreed to offer discounted room rates Monday, September 24 through Sunday, September 30.  Rates will vary depending on the days of the week you plan to stay.  Expect to pay $85.00 to $95.00 per night.

The community of Cherokee is "dry" - meaning that no alcohol is sold there.  You can, however, BYOB to the event.  If you wish to make a purchase, there are liquor stores in Bryson City, just 9 miles away.  Bring some .... and bring some to share!!
